Information We Collect

When you create an account on ArchersCloset, we collect personal information you provide, including your name, email address, and profile details such as your display name, profile photo, and location preferences. We also collect information related to your activity on the platform, including listing data, transaction history, offer and negotiation records, saved searches, and communications with other users. This information is necessary to provide and improve our services, facilitate transactions, and maintain the integrity of the marketplace.

Authentication Data

ArchersCloset supports multiple authentication methods to provide a secure and convenient sign-in experience. When you authenticate via Apple Sign-In, we receive and store your Apple User ID, and on your first sign-in, your email address and name as provided by Apple. When you authenticate via Google OAuth, we receive and store your Google account ID, email address, display name, and profile picture. If you register with email and password, your password is securely hashed and stored; we never store plaintext passwords. Authentication data is used solely to create, link, and secure your account.

Automatically Collected Data

We automatically collect certain technical and usage data when you use ArchersCloset. Device information such as your device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers may be collected for compatibility and security purposes. We use Amplitude for analytics to understand how users interact with the platform, including screen views, feature usage, and search queries. Sentry is used to capture error reports and crash data to help us identify and resolve technical issues. Radar.io is used to process location data for search functionality; this data is collected only when you perform location-based actions and is not continuously tracked.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the ArchersCloset platform and its features. Your location and listing data enable us to match local buyers and sellers and surface relevant equipment in your area. We use your contact information and notification preferences to send you messages about offers, transactions, and important account updates. Additionally, we analyze usage patterns to improve the user experience and employ transaction and behavioral data to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

Push Notifications

ArchersCloset sends push notifications to keep you informed about activity relevant to your account, including new messages, incoming offers, meetup confirmations, and price changes on items you are watching. We use Expo push notification services, and a unique push token is generated and stored for each of your devices on which you enable notifications. You have granular control over notification categories through the app settings and may enable or disable specific notification types at any time. You can also disable all push notifications through your device operating system settings.

Location Data

ArchersCloset uses location data, powered by Radar.io, to enable local pickup matching and to show you listings from sellers in your area. Your location is not continuously tracked; it is collected only when you actively perform location-based searches or update your location preferences. Location data is stored as city, state, and geographic coordinates and is used solely to facilitate local transactions. You may update or remove your stored location at any time through your profile settings.

Camera and Media Permissions

ArchersCloset may request access to your device camera and media library to let you capture or upload photos for listings, profile updates, messages, and reviews. On Android, this may include camera access permission (`android.permission.CAMERA`) when you choose to take a photo in-app. We only access camera and photo library data when you take an action that requires it, and we do not access these sources continuously in the background. You can deny or revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings, but certain photo-related features may not function without them.

Messaging

Messages exchanged between users through the ArchersCloset in-app messaging system are stored on our servers to facilitate ongoing conversations and provide transaction context. We do not sell, share, or distribute the content of your messages to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Message data may be accessed by ArchersCloset for the purposes of providing platform features, enforcing our Terms of Service, resolving disputes between users, or complying with legal obligations. We recommend that users keep all transaction-related communications within the platform for their own protection.

Data Sharing

ArchersCloset does not sell your personal data to third parties. We share information only in the following limited circumstances: with service providers who assist in operating the platform, such as Radar.io for location services, Amplitude for analytics, and Sentry for error tracking, each of which is bound by their own privacy obligations; with law enforcement or governmental authorities when required by law, subpoena, or court order; and with other users in the form of your public profile information, listings, and ratings, which are visible as part of normal platform functionality. We may also share aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Data Retention

Your personal information is retained for as long as your account remains active and as reasonably necessary to provide you with our services. Notification data is automatically deleted after 60 days to manage storage and maintain relevance. Upon account deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or protect our legal rights. Transaction records may be retained in anonymized form for analytical and compliance purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you and to request a copy of that data in a portable format. You may request the deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to any legal retention requirements. You may opt out of analytics data collection and control your push notification preferences at any time through the app settings. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to correct inaccurate data and the right to restrict or object to certain data processing activities.

Children's Privacy

ArchersCloset is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a user under 18 years of age, we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our systems. Parents or guardians who believe that their child may have provided personal information to ArchersCloset should contact us immediately so that we can take appropriate action.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols, and authentication is handled through secure OAuth flows via Apple and Google identity providers. While we strive to protect your personal data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage users to take additional precautions, such as using strong, unique passwords and keeping their device software up to date.

Changes to Privacy Policy

ArchersCloset may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes through in-app notifications and will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the platform after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
